My cover of Knocking on Heaven’s Door. It is one of Bob Dylan’s most iconic songs, written for the 1973 film Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid. With its simple yet profound lyrics and haunting melody, the song explores themes of mortality, farewell, and acceptance.
Matt proposed this song for our Song Challenge Group. After listening several versions, I used Dylan’s original music as a foundation. I thought the song needed some harmonies in the chorus so I added a second voice in the main chorus and a third voice in the final chorus, to create a richer hymn-like texture, the idea of voices coming together in a moment of reflection.
Hans did the producing and the video with footage of the movie Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid. He also added a personal touch to the music with an extra bass line and spiced up the organ part.

J’ai pensé que la chanson avait besoin d’harmonies dans le refrain, alors j’ai ajouté une deuxième voix dans le refrain principal et une troisième voix dans le dernier refrain, pour créer une texture plus riche, presque hymnique, avec l’idée de voix qui s’unissent dans un moment de réflexion.
Hans s’est occupé de la production et de la vidéo, en intégrant des extraits du film Pat Garrett et Billy the Kid. Il a également apporté une touche personnelle à la musique avec une ligne de basse supplémentaire et a enrichi la partie d’orgue.
