The first time I was picked to choose a song in our Song Challenge Group. I’ve chosen Venus by Shocking Blue, because I wanted to present a Dutch band that is also famous in the US and it’s also a band from The Hague, my hometown in the Netherlands. It’s a catchy song and not so difficult to sing. The dancing girl is the daughter from our neighbours, Amelia. We recorded her for a theater project 7 years ago.

Stride piano (1st version). I am trying to learn stride piano with the course Stride Piano 101 on pianote.com. I recorded myself while playing the “stride progression” and after that I tried some improvisation. I played around a bit with IrealPro and added the progression with electric guitar clean, leslie organ, electric bass and drums.

Piano version of While my guitar gently weeps by The Beatles. I’ve sent this in for the student recitals of Pianote.com summer 2024 and the Weekly Song Challenge of Singeo.com (song was chosen by Richard). I also have a version where I play the piano and did the singing afterwards.

This version of While my guitar gently weeps by the Beatles is made for the Weekly Song Challenge on Singeo.com (Song chosen by Richard). I play the piano and did the singing afterwards. I made the progression with some instruments with iRealPro. I also have a version where I sing and play at the same time (for the Pianote Students Recital summer 2024), but it’s very hard to concentrate on both, so for Singeo I decided to make a version just singing. You can really hear the difference.
